Mountain pose is considered the main foundation pose in yoga.
- Stand tall: Place your feet hip width apart, grounding evenly through all four corners of your feet.
- Engage the body: Firm your thighs, tuck your pelvis slightly, and draw your belly button in toward your spine.
- Open the chest: Lift your chest, relax your shoulders, and let your arms hang naturally by your sides with palms facing slightly forward.
- Focus on your breath: Take deep, even breaths as you hold the pose, feeling strong and steady like a mountain.
