Bespoke training

I just did Clare’s on-demand 30-minute resistance training that is gentle on the knees. This is a complete workout, working all the muscle groups without putting strain on the knees which suits me perfectly. And, because it’s recorded I could do it in the beautiful evening sunshine. A totally invigorating experience! This 30-minute workout is easy to fit in when it suits me so has become a regular fixture. Thank you Clare!

Having never lifted weights before I started, I found the instruction to be excellent. You are given very detailed instructions, so you do them in a safe manner. You are encouraged to increase your weights at your own pace, the importance of technique for each exercise is always the priority. And I love the format and structure of the classes – you cover everything and all in one hour!

After Christmas I got two 8kg dumbbells and I’m beginning to be able to use them! My left wrist is definitely getting stronger and more flexible and I think it is your classes enabling that. I also discovered my inner thigh muscles this week! Ha ha!

At 55 I had a long list of reasons why I couldn’t start training, but I took a chance and joined Stronger You for life online. I am so glad I did!! I could only manage five minutes in the first class but was up to 30 mins within weeks.

Emma’s instructions were clear and easy to follow at my own pace. I absolutely love her classes. I feel stronger and now do three classes a week, either live or on demand.

Setting goals and making progress

I set goals to keep training over the winter and am currently doing 3–4 online library sessions each week. I do laugh when you are using a 14kg weight and I’m using 2kg. But having started out with 1, 2 and 3kg weights, I’m excited to have just bought a 4, 5, and 6kg set.

Lifting a 25kg sack of coal is definitely easier these days – tangible progress!

Yoga for strength

This is a really well-designed course, especially for someone who needs structure. Ruth helps you understand the ‘why’ behind the movements and provides good modifications for every pose, making it accessible whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced yogi. I loved that it incorporated some resistance as well. Overall, my strength and posture have improved.

Sustainable nutrition for life

I was frustrated by what I now realise was a lack of knowledge. Clare provided solutions to suit me and my pace. She is kind and encouraging, especially when I’ve had a bad week. Clare provided eas life-changing tips and advise. She transformed my diet so I feel satisfied after meals.

When a food or meal didn’t suit, Clare adjusted it with ease and never showed frustration with my limited palate. I’m confident Clare has given me the tools to make the correct decisions regarding my diet.

Returning to fitness

After my first baby I was keen to start exercising again. I wanted to do it carefully to ensure I was rebuilding my core and strength appropriately and worked with Clare for the first six months. She was excellent and took great care to program appropriate workouts for me as a post-partum mum.

It was fantastic to be able to bring my baby with me to work out and Clare kept him well entertained if needed! I’d highly recommend Clare to any post-partum mum looking to get back to training!

Pain free!

When I started Stronger You, I was suffering from ongoing hip pain. I am now pain free, my quality of life has improved enormously and I’m  playing loads of sports. It’s all down to doing these classes on a regular basis.

Having never lifted weights, I find the instruction excellent, with very detailed instructions, so you know you are doing it safely. They encourage you to increase your weights at your own pace, you don’t feel pushed beyond your personal limit.

Clare’s class covers everything in one hour. My goal now is to do some of the other classes – Pilates, yoga & HIIT.

Rebuilding strength and stability

As someone coming back from a minor knee injury, I needed a way to rebuild strength and stability without high impact. Ruth is meticulous about alignment and form, constantly reminding you to engage the right muscles. The emphasis isn’t on flexibility, but on creating powerful, stable foundations in the poses. It’s challenging but safe. Content quality itself is five stars!

No more back pain

I love Emma’s classes! They are tough but great, the mix of strength, core and cardio is the perfect fit, and she gives options for all levels plus constant reminders of technique and engagement, that keep me on track. The lower back pain and groin tendonitis I was suffering with have gone.

I started Stronger You For Life in 2020. I was always hesitant about lifting weights as I feared that it would make me look really muscular, but it has made me feel much stronger, and look leaner and toned. I am now addicted!

Improved running

My passion is running, which I’ve enjoyed for fifteen years. However, as I approached 50 I noticed that I was suffering more injuries, and that my times were getting slower. I felt really down about it and a friend suggested I talk to Clare. This was a revelation. She explained that as we age we lose muscle mass and that this was impacting my running.

Six months of resistance training with Clare and I feel as fit as I have ever been. I love her sessions, remarkable for someone who hates the gym. I’m now posting times that I was doing years ago and, most importantly, without injury.
